The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), has joined hands with Clean Waters International Philippines (CWIP) in an orientation and distribution of ceramic water filters in Poblacion, Balut Island, Sarangani, Davao Occidental on February 19, 2025.

The CWIP turned over ceramic water filters to 300 4Ps households in Balut Island, and provided water sanitation and hygiene training to the beneficiaries engaged in the water technology projects.

This activity also offers livelihood opportunities to 4P’s beneficiaries chosen as Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH) ambassadors, that will undergo extensive training in WaSH practices, technical intricacies, and lead in maintaining the ceramic filters, to help sustain the improvement of the well-being of Pantawid Households.

DSWD FO XI, 4Ps RPMO Division Chief-Margie Cabido-Sobretodo, on behalf of Regional Director Merlinda A. Paragamac, CWIP Executive Director Delfin Gentallan, CWIP staff along with the Provincial and Regional Program Management Team have taken part in the said activity.

The partnership between DSWD XI and CWIP strides towards improving the lives of families in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA), especially the Indigenous communities who are experiencing water scarcity, by bringing innovative technologies to deliver safe and clean water.
