This event marks a key step in promoting community ownership of climate adaptation and sustainable livelihood initiatives.

Four local associations โ€” the North Lamidan Fisherfolks and Farmers Association, Sitio KALAMI-I Farmers Association, Barahaw Paradise Peak Association, and Sitio Elib Farmers Association have now taken on leadership roles in managing programs under Project LAWA at BINHI. These programs are essential for enhancing agricultural resilience and improving water access, both of which are crucial in mitigating the effects of climate change.

Key officials from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) and Municipal Police Office (PNP) attended the ceremony, demonstrating strong support from local authorities.

The MSWDO reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the community to ensure the success of these projects, while the PNP offered its ongoing support in maintaining peace and security to sustain development efforts in Barangay Nueva Villa.

With the association officers assuming leadership roles, Project LAWA at BINHI continues to empower local communities to take charge of their projectโ€™s development journey.

This handover strengthens local capacity and ensures the sustainability of the projectโ€™s impact, positioning Barangay Nueva Villa as a model for resilience and community-driven progress in Davao Occidental. (๐‘ซ๐‘บ๐‘พ๐‘ซ ๐‘ฟ๐‘ฐ/๐‘น๐‘บ๐‘ซ)
