The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XI (DSWD FO XI) conducted Cash-For-Training (CFT) for Project LAWA (Local Adaptation to Water Access) and BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency Through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) facilitated by John Vergil S. Salido, Risk Resiliency Program-Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RRP-CCAM) focal for Davao del Norte, in collaboration with partner agencies, engaging the participation of 300 partner beneficiaries on July 4-5, 2024. 

“Improving local water access and addressing food insufficiency through sustainable agriculture is crucial for our community’s growth and well-being. I am grateful to DSWD XI for their support and commitment to this project,” said Municipal Mayor Roland T. Dejesica in his opening remarks.

Discussants included Engr. Elmer S. Degorio, Head of the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAGRO), spoke about sustainable agriculture; Charlemagne M. Fernandez, Head of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), discussed environmental management; and Vivian T. Manile, Head of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), who covered social welfare initiatives.

Additionally, Engr. Mario R. Rebote, Head of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), shared insights on disaster risk reduction and management; Marklin Delos M. Santos, Provincial Fisheries Officer of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR-PFO), discussed fisheries management; Jennilyn G. Alegarbes, Environmental Management System-1 of Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), talked about environmental sustainability; Rowena Y. Luna from Municipal Agriculture Office (MAGRO) provided information on agricultural practices; and Ruby S. Panimdim, RSW, along with Cryztal Jade M. Tabajonda from Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), focused on social welfare programs.
