Davao City, February 5, 2024–In a swift response to the pressing needs of the community, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI dispatched 9,000 Family Food Packs (FFPs) to Lupon Sea Port, Poblacion, Lupon, Davao Oriental. The relief goods are intended for distribution to families affected by the trough of the Low Pressure Area (LPA) in the region.

The aid was transported via the BRP Tagbanua (LC 296) ship of the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao, highlighting the collaborative efforts of government agencies to promptly address the challenges posed by the trough of LPA.

DSWD FO XI continues to monitor the rising number of affected families of the said LPA through its Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) Quick Response Team and Municipal Action Team in all provinces in the region to release immediate assistance.

DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian emphasized in his message during his visit on February 3, 2024, to Davao Oriental that all requests for assistance not just from the latter but the entire region will be delivered including financial assistance. (DSWD FO XI/EMCJr)
