Davao City, December 3, 2023 – In response to the Red Alert Status raised by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC XI), through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD XI) yesterday, December 3, 2023, the Department of Social Welfare and Development intensified its preparations for immediate response to LGUs who will request assistance after the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that hit Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur with intensities felt in Davao Region.

As of the latest incident report of DSWD FO XI, there are 447 families or 1,844 individuals who were affected by the earthquake incident in Davao Region. There were also 10 casualties reported where 9 were injured and 1 was confirmed dead. 

DSWD FO XI activated its Quick Response Team (QRT) and continues to monitor updates and reports of the damages caused by the earthquake to respond to requests for augmentation immediately. 

DSWD FO XI has a standby fund of P5,000,000.00, 56,514 family food packs amounting to P36,825,722.06, and 32, 261 non-food items amounting to P47,419,454.76.
