The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, the Department of Interior Local Government (DILG) XI, and the Local Government Academy (LGA) XI roll out the Training of Trainers (TOT) for the Barangay Development Planning Batch 1 on June 19 until June 23, 2023, at the Grand Men Seng Hotel in Davao City.

The Barangay Development Planning training aims to strengthen the implementation of enhanced participatory local governance planning, which will eventually be facilitated by regional trainers from DSWD XI, DILG XI, and LGA XI.

Furthermore, the BDP aims to enhance the knowledge and competencies of barangay officials, community volunteers, and people’s organizations in the 676 covered barangays in Davao Region.

The rollout of the TOT is being realized through one of DSWD’s main poverty-reduction programs, the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Service (KALAHI-CIDSS), the National Community Driven Development Project (NCDDP), and Additional Financing (AF).

The said activity was attended by staff from DSWD XI, DILG XI, and Davao de Oro and Davao del Norte municipal and provincial government staff.
