The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI through its Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty Program (EPAHP) facilitated a Consultation Trialogue among the focal persons of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), SLP Associations (SLPAs), and Centers and Residential Care Facilities (CRCFs) on February 15 and 20, 2023 in Davao Del Norte and Davao City.

The activity aims to intensify the strategic measures of EPAHP in linking the community-based organizations to the institutional market through direct purchase of goods and the adoption of Republic Act No. 9184 on negotiated procurement through community participation.

The said procurement modality will enable associations, local farmers, and other people’s organizations to become suppliers to both regular and feeding programs of the Department.

The CRCFs are in need of suppliers for rice, vegetables, eggs, meat, etc. that could ensure their demands in terms of quality, quantity, and frequency of needs.

The ready and equipped SLPAs shall be capacitated in this new strategy which will prodive them additional income for the attainment of project sustainability.

While the SLP aims to improve the economic well-being of the vulnerable, marginalized, and disadvantaged individuals and families in communities by mobilizing and empowering the same through the support of the local government units and other government agencies, EPAHP, on the other hand, is a convergence program and one of the government’s initiatives that looks into the attainment of Ambisyon Natin 2040 Para sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Buhay. ###
