In its continuous pursuit to standardize its services, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) successfully achieved an ISO 9001:2015 Certification of its Agency-wide Quality Management System covering its frontline and non-frontline (internal and external) services in both the Central and all Field Offices.
The said effort is an expansion of the initial ISO 9001:2015 certification awarded to the DSWD on 31 December 2021 for two (2) of its external services on the issuance of travel clearance for Minors Traveling Abroad (MTA) and processing of Disaster Data Request, as well as the essential support services on general administration and information and communication technology.
Following this, the Central and Field Offices underwent another external audit which covered 106 frontline and non-frontline services of the DSWD on the following areas: (i) General Administration and Essential Support Services; (ii) Operations Management; (iii) Disaster Response Management; (iv) Policy and Plans Development; (v) Standards and Regulatory Services Administration; and (vi) Capacity Building. The Department was awarded its expanded ISO 9001:2015 Compliance Certificate on May 19, 2022 at Xenia Hotel, Clark, Pampanga during the Midyear 2022 National Management Development Conference (NMDC).
The new ISO 9001:2015 Certificate covering all Offices of the Department means that the DSWD adheres to world-class standards on quality management and service delivery. “Our ISO journey is a significant step in the Department’s thrust to constantly improve itself, and innovate to make it responsive to the evolving needs of the sectors it is mandated to serve. It is our pride and honor as public servants to propel DSWD towards a world class standard of operations and practices.”, Sec. Rolando Joselito D. Bautista stressed.
Through this milestone achievement, Sec. Bautista is confident that despite the obstacles posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and other emerging challenges in social welfare and development, the DSWD shall continue to demonstrate its dedication to the Filipino people by upholding the international standards of quality management through initiatives that comply with the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) and other pertinent laws. ###
