The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XI (DSWD XI) received 12,503 pairs of black shoes and 1,826 sanitizers, worth ₱4,536,183.00 from the SM Foundation and SM Cares, as part of its “Operation Tulong Express.”

OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Administration Merlinda Paragamac and Disaster Response and Management Division OIC-Chief Lolita Roble received the donations from the SM group in two separate ceremonies held yesterday at SM City Davao in Ecoland and SM Lanang Premier, both in Davao City.

Representing SM City Davao were Mall Manager Lester Tantoco, The SM Store Davao Assistant Branch Manager Glennor Lucero and Selling Department Manager Pamela de Castro, while representing SM Lanang Premier were Assistant Mall Manager Kimberly Ann Remolona and The SM Store Lanang Assistant Branch Manager Marinette Poliquit.

On the part of DSWD XI, OIC-ARDA Paragamac expressed her gratitude to the SM group, through the SM Foundation and SM Cares, for supporting the causes of DSWD XI.

“The recipients will surely be happy to receive these items coming from good-hearted groups like SM,” she added.

DSWD XI intends to distribute the goods to the different provinces in Davao Region in the next weeks. ###
