Compostela Valley– The Association of Regional Executives of National Agencies in Region XI (ARENA XI) in collaboration with the provincial government of Compostela Valley brings various government services in the remote area of the province on October 3-4, 2017 at Upper Ulip, Monkayo.
Arena XI “Serbisyo Caravan” is a quarterly activity of national government agencies since 2011 which gives one-stop government services to rural folks in far flung areas.
According to Maria Lourdes Lim- NEDA XI Regional Director “the purpose of the serbisyo caravan is bringing government services closer to the people. Kinahanglan ma ipa demonstrate nato nga government is here to serve the people.”
Meanwhile Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy together with Monkayo Mayor Ramil Gentugaya expressed their gratitude to the participating agencies as well as the people of Barangay Upper Ulip and nearby barangays .
Among the services were giving of capital fund and food packs, seedlings, tilapia and carp fingerlings as well as the updating of membership for Philhealth, free legal services , giving of school supplies to the children and free hair cut.
The participating national government agencies are the following: Armed Forces of the Philippines(AFP), National Economic & Development Authority (NEDA), Civil Service Commission (CSC), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Social Welfare & Development (DSWD), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Department of Trade & Industry (DTI),Department of Education (DepEd) and among others.
The DOH, Davao Regional Medical Center and Provincial Health Office (PHO) also conducted free medical, dental, surgical, silip tainga, and mata while the DOST exhibited hand-on testing and promotion of Solar Powered Starbooks.
“This is the first time nga nahitabo dinhi sa Monkayo maong dako kayo akong pasalamat nga napili kini na lugar, aduna man mi mga municipal caravan pero dili sama kaingon-ani kadako nga mga serbisyo nga gikan sa mga regional offices,” said Mayor Gentugaya. (Jazel Sarte//ids comval)
