Mati City -The Davao Oriental Local Poverty Reduction Action Team (LPRAT) and the Regional Poverty Reduction Action Team (RPRAT) which are implementing Bottom-Up Budgeting (BUB) projects based on the Local Poverty Reduction Action Plan (LPRAP), recently met in Baywalk Hotel, Mati City.

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Director Yvette C. Tolentino-Sunga provided the activity overview to participants from National Government Agencies, Local Government Units, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), as well as Stakeholders and DSWD Project Development Officers of Mati City, Gov. Generoso, San Isidro, Caraga, Cateel and Lupon.

Julius R. Duterte, Focal Person for DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) in Davao Oriental presented updates on SLP and requested concerned LGUs to submit lacking BUB project documents not later than July 15.

Issues and concerns were discussed and DILG committed to help follow-up on LGUs on the submission of needed documents based on request of concerned agency.

BUB aims to ensure that funding requirements for the development needs of municipalities and cities are included in agency budget proposals. It promotes inclusive participation in community development by empowering CSOs to be engaged in the budgeting process. (DSWD)
