DAVAO City  -In support to the 13th ARENA XI Serbisyo Caravan, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will turnover Php 8,898,238 worth of Family Food Packs, Social Pension and Supplementary Feeding funds to the municipalities of Maco and Maragusan, Compostela Valley on Friday, April 10.

ARENA XI Business Manager and DSWD Regional Director Priscilla N. Razon said DSWD will provide 4000 family food packs each containing six kilos rice, six packs noodles, six sachets instant coffee, four cans sardines and four cans corned beef. “At least seven villages in Maco and three in Maragusan will receive food packs.”

“For the two towns’ 3376 children enrolled in day care centers, we will hand over a Php 4,125,958 allocation for Supplementary Feeding. And covering the First Quarter payout, we will also disburse Php 3,246,000 to the 2164 social pensioners of Maco and Maragusan,” Director Razon added.

The ARENA XI (Association of Regional Executives of National Agencies in Region XI) Serbisyo Caravan brings series of community outreach programs and direct services closer to the people.

The caravan provides a one-stop shop of services of national government agencies especially targeting the poorest barangays in the region.

Over 500 officials and staffs of national agencies and local government units are expected to troop to Barangay New Leyte in Maco where the caravan convenes on Friday.

DPWH Director Mariano R. Alquiza currently heads ARENA XI with NEDA Director Maria Lourdes D. Lim serving as Vice President. DSWD
