DSWD XI showcases livelihood products in annual information caravan cum bazaar

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), joined the one-day product display and bazaar dubbed as the “Katakus sa Onse: An Information Caravan and Product Display” held on November 21, 2023 at Rizal Park, Davao City.

Products ranged from Davao Occidental’s intricate “Nito” crafts to Davao Oriental’s savory dried squid, alongside diverse food and non-food items created by selected SLP Associations and program participants from across the region.

Regional Director Atty. Vanessa B. Goc-ong led the activity, which aimed to showcase DSWD’s diverse programs and services, while also promoting the products of its beneficiaries to the public.

Boosting livelihoods and water access: DSWD XI launches hog fattening and water systems projects in Malita, DavOcc

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) launched livelihood projects of the Caantaba Little Baguio SLP Association and Balugo Water System SLP Association on November 10, 2023 in Malita, Davao Occidental.

Both projects received Php 450,000.00 in seed capital, empowering the associations to achieve their goals—the former to kickstart their hog fattening venture and the latter to improve their community’s access to clean water.

These projects align with the national government’s Zero Hunger Program, a key initiative under the Human Development and Poverty Reduction Cluster.

DSWD XI empowers community in Digos with rice-retailing project

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), spearheaded the blessing and turnover of a seed capital fund to the Tiguman Urban Poor SLP Association in Barangay Tiguman, Digos City, Davao del Sur.

Comprising 30 members, the Tiguman Urban Poor SLP Association received a livelihood grant amounting to PHP 450,000.00 for their rice and basic commodities retailing project. 

This initiative aligns with the implementation of the Zero Hunger Program, reflecting DSWD XI’s commitment to empowering communities and addressing food insecurity.
