“Adversity only fuels the fire of determination. Poverty may try to hold us back, but we can graduate with flying colors with resilience, perseverance, and an unwavering focus on education.”
I live a simple life with my parents and five siblings in a place called Lungag Digos City. My father and mother had to take different jobs to sustain our daily needs and provide us a better life. We all experience struggles in life; every family has its own struggles, and we have one. One challenge that led us to incur a lot of debts was when my oldest kuya met an accident which made him sick. Wala miy Philhealth at that time and nakaPhilhealth lang mi because of 4Ps. However, we persevered and did not give in to the challenges of life.
In 2013, we became 4ps beneficiary and it changed our life. It lessened the burden of my parents especially from our education needs. By God’s Grace, my brother is already a DepEd teacher, I am now a college graduate, and our youngest is already a 3rd year college student.
To the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the incredible support and assistance it has provided through the 4Ps program. Your program has made a profound difference in our lives and has given us the chance to pursue a brighter future.
To my fellow 4Ps beneficiaries, in the face of struggles and poverty, remember that you are stronger than your circumstances. The 4Ps has given us an opportunity to break free from the cycle of poverty, and it is up to us to seize it. Together, let’s rise above our circumstances and create a better future for ourselves and our families. You are capable, you are strong, and you are destined for greatness.
Keep striving and never lose hope.”
