YOUTH POWER NOW. Pantawid pamilya high school beneficiaries happily share their dream boards during the regional launch of the Pantawid Pamilya Youth Development Session (YDS) on Tuesday at Davao City National High School.

YDS aims to motivate adolescents to attend and finish their education. It will equip students with appropriate knowledge, attitude and skills to manage developmental challenges, access available opportunities, and overcome possible risks to aid them in achieving optimal and holistic development.

YDS modules include: Your Changing Body, Body Image and Healthy Lifestyle, Expressing Your Emotions, Changing Roles and Expectations, Appreciating Your Self-Worth, and Discovering Your Destiny.

Other pertinent topics to be discussed are reproductive health, decision making, active citizenship for nation building, teenage pregnancy, substance abuse and pornography.

High school Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries all over the country are the main participants of YDS. It shall be done once a month in a school-based setting during weekdays within class hours.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) partners with the Department of Education (DepEd) and the National Youth Commission in advancing this undertaking. (DSWD)
