The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Monkayo, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, successfully conducted a Capacity Building Training on Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Protection from May 20 to 22, 2025, in Monkayo, Davao de Oro.

The three-day training brought together representatives from all barangays of Monkayo, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO). Participants engaged in a blend of lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on workshops, equipping them with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in CCCM and IDP protection.

The sessions were facilitated by DSWD XI personnel, namely John Ruzcel F. Sampiano, Social Welfare Officer II; Hazel Annelou Cirunay, Project Development Officer III; and Lennon Remotigue, Social Welfare Officer II.

This initiative aimed to strengthen local disaster preparedness and response mechanisms by enhancing the capacity of key stakeholders in managing evacuation centers and ensuring the protection and welfare of displaced individuals during emergencies.
