The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI urges households enrolled in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) with pregnant women or children aged 0-2 years old to update their information for the First 1 Thousand Days (F1KD) Expanded Cash Grant. The announcement was made during the Kapihan sa PIA event on February 3, 2025.
The F1KD, or the First 1,000 Days Expanded Cash Grant, is a key initiative aimed at addressing and preventing stunting in children. This program targets pregnant women and children aged 0-2 in 4Ps households, in line with Republic Act No. 11148, also known as the Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act. The law underscores the importance of health and nutrition during the crucial early stages of a child’s development.
The program provides conditional cash grants of Php 350 per qualified member of each 4Ps household each month. The grant aims to support essential health and nutrition expenses during the critical first one thousand days of a child’s life. Conditions for receiving the grant include following health protocols established by the Department of Health (DOH), such as having at least eight prenatal visits, utilizing appropriate delivery services by a skilled health professional, attending follow-up visits, ensuring newborn care and screenings, and availing of oral health and nutrition interventions.
Margie Cabido-Sobretodo, Division Chief of DSWD XI, emphasized that there are 6,970 target households in the Davao Region with pregnant women and children aged 2 years and below who are eligible for this program. “Monitoring will begin in two months, so we encourage all 4Ps beneficiaries to update their information and attend the upcoming orientation on program compliance,” Cabido-Sobretodo said.
To streamline the process, 4Ps beneficiaries are encouraged to update their details through the Dynamic Social Registry (i-Registro), a digital platform designed for easy self-service. Kareen M. Ferrer, DSWD XI’s F1KD focal person, highlighted the accessibility of the i-Registro platform: “Beneficiaries can update their information online through mobile devices with internet access, making the process faster and more convenient.” The i-Registro website can be accessed through iregistro-4ps.dswd.gov.ph.
The 4Ps F1KD seeks to promote the demand and develop the culture of health-seeking behavior of the targeted eligible F1KD beneficiaries. The strategy will help the eligible F1KD beneficiaries improve their awareness of the importance of health and nutrition services to the foundational development of their children.
