The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Provincial Operations Office in Davao de Oro, recently engaged in a meeting with Atty. Joji Bernadette A. Angcog-Casidsid, a notary public and owner of Legacy College of Compostela on October 15.

The discussion centered on how Legacy College could contribute to the program’s clientele through various avenues, reinforcing their commitment to social responsibility and economic development.

During the meeting, the team provided an overview of the program, including the SLP process, accreditation requirements, and the legal obligations associations must fulfill, such as notarized documents. They also addressed financial challenges faced by program beneficiaries.

Atty. Angcog-Casidsid expressed her strong interest in partnering with the DSWD SLP to enhance support for the community. She outlined several key initiatives that Legacy College is willing to offer like free legal consultations, notarization, resource persons, use of school facilities and even scholarship programs.

To formalize this partnership, the DSWD SLP will draft a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) outlining these commitments. This collaboration promises to significantly enhance the support provided to the program’s clientele, paving the way for greater economic stability and growth within the community.

The said activity was made possible through the efforts of the SLP Provincial Partnership Officer of Davao De Oro Mr. Alberto Monera, Jr.
