A total of 250 beneficiaries gathered at the Braulio Dujali Evacuation Center Gym on April 22–23, 2025, to participate in a two-day Cash-for-Training activity under the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XI’s (DSWD FO XI) RRP-CCAM Project LAWA at BINHI (PLAB). The initiative aimed to build awareness and strengthen local participation in climate-resilient practices and project sustainability.

Organized by PLAB Project Development Officers, John Vergil L. Salido and Angelica M. Coda, the training was supported by a diverse inter-agency team, including representatives from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the Municipal Agriculture and Environment Offices (MAGRO and MENRO). Their collaboration emphasized the project’s holistic and community-driven approach.

BE Dujali MSWDO Nita Morado highlighted, “Labaw pa kini sa panginabuhian nga inisyatibo—usa kini ka programa nga nagtumong sa pagpalig-on sa liderato ug pagpalambo sa mga bulnerable nga komunidad.”

Participants were trained on their roles in local associations to strengthen their sense of responsibility. The program gave them knowledge and leadership skills so they can actively help make the project successful, not just benefit from it.

Project LAWA at BINHI continues to make strides in empowering communities through inclusive capacity-building. The recent training in the municipality of BE Dujali reaffirms the government’s commitment to fostering environmental resilience and self-sufficiency at the local level, one empowered beneficiary at a time.
