As part of the ongoing implementation of the Project LAWA at BINHI, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XI (DSWD XI) conducted a Cash-for-Training (CFT) activity on April 24, 2025 at Sabangan Gym, San Isidro, Davao del Norte.

The training gathered 150 beneficiaries from the barangays of Sabangan, Sawata, and Monte Dujali under the Risk Resiliency Program – Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RRP-CCAM). The initiative aimed to strengthen local capacities in climate change adaptation through skills enhancement and sustainable agricultural practices.

In collaboration with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Municipal Agriculture Office (MAGRO), Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), and the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), the training sessions focused on practical solutions such as drought-tolerant farming, flood resilience, and risk-informed agricultural planning.

The training emphasized actionable knowledge that empowers communities to overcome food insecurity and environmental challenges, ensuring their readiness to face climate-induced risks. Each participant also received financial support for their active involvement in the sessions.

This initiative reflects DSWD XI’s continuing commitment to building resilient, informed, and climate-ready communities in the Davao Region through sustainable and inclusive programs like Project LAWA at BINHI.
