The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XI thru the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services or KALAHI-CIDSS, together with the Municipal Development Council (MDC) of Mawab, Davao de Oro, recently conducted a Participatory Resource Allocation (PRA) activity under the Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay – Community-Driven Development (KC KKB CDD) Cycle 2 on Apri 28, 2025 at Barangay Poblacion, Mawab, Davao de Oro.

Among the key agenda items were the prioritization of sub-projects, the municipal development plan for non-prioritized sub-projects, and the reorientation of the Multi-Stakeholder Inspectorate Team (MSIT). The conduct of the MDC PRA marks the transition from Stage 2 (Project Development) to Stage 3 (Sub-Project Implementation). Barangays with prioritized interventions, including Saosao, Nuevo Iloco, Andili, Malinawon, and Sawangan, should submit their Request for Fund Release documentary requirements within 3-7 days.

This activity served as a vital platform for community leaders, local stakeholders, and government partners to collaboratively prioritize sub-projects or interventions using criteria and procedures previously approved by both the community and the Municipal Development Council. These sub-projects will be considered for funding and implementation under the current KC KKB CDD cycle.

The Community-Driven Development Approach (CDD) is a widely recognized and proven approach to development that empowers local communities to take the lead in Planning, identifying, designing, and implementing solutions based on the needs of the people.
