The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, together with partner offices, successfully conducted a two-day Cash-for-Training (CFT) activity under Project LAWA at BINHI (PLAB) on April 10–11, 2025, at the APC Center in Magatos, Asuncion, Davao del Norte.

As part of the PLAB 2025 initiatives, the training brought together beneficiaries for a series of sessions aimed at building climate resilience and promoting sustainable development. The Community-Focused Training (CFT) emphasized practical knowledge and skills in drought-tolerant farming, flood preparedness, and sustainable livelihood practices—empowering vulnerable communities to better cope with water scarcity and food insecurity.

Experts from various agencies contributed to the training, including Angelica M. Coda and John Vergil L. Salido from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Emmerson Añasco Jr. from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), John F. Paparon from the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAGRO), Mayye Dawn P. Dela Cruz from the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), Diosmin Ihalas from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), Marklin Delos Santos from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), and Edlyn Hoyohoy, Glenda Ruiz, and Jackylyn Baliad from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

Through this collaborative effort, DSWD XI and its partners continue to strengthen community resilience by equipping residents with the tools and knowledge needed to face climate-related challenges, ensure food security, and support sustainable and inclusive development. This initiative also reflects efforts to streamline services in alignment with the Ease of Doing Business principle, promoting greater efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in government operations.
