The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI held the first Regional Stakeholders Meeting for the Risk Resiliency Program – Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RRP-CCAM): Project LAWA at BINHI last March 2025, at the MTC Building, NIA XI, Bolton Extension, Davao City.

The meeting gathered representatives from DSWD XI, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) XI, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) XI, National Irrigation Administration (NIA) XI, Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) XI, the Davao City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), and representatives from various local government agencies.

RRP-CCAM Regional Focal Karen C. Gayonan and CapBuild and Partnership Focal Andrea Mae M. Batuhan led the presentation of Project LAWA at BINHI, highlighting its goals of promoting sustainable food production, better water management, and community-based aquaculture in vulnerable areas. Provincial and city focal persons from across Davao Region also participated in the discussions.

A key highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the draft Regional Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which aims to strengthen inter-agency collaboration by outlining shared responsibilities and support mechanisms.

Stakeholders also identified areas for partnership, such as improving aquaculture practices and boosting community engagement. These efforts are expected to strengthen Project LAWA at BINHI’s impact in building climate-resilient communities across the region.
