The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XI (DSWD FO XI), through the Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) under the Risk Resiliency Program – Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Disaster Risk Reduction (RRP-CCAM-DRR), conducted the final inspection of the Project LAWA at BINHI site in Barangay Sanghay, Mati City, Davao Oriental. This critical process ensures the project’s full readiness for implementation by assessing compliance, identifying necessary adjustments, and reinforcing strategies for effective execution.

As part of DSWD XI’s ongoing commitment to community welfare, family food packs were distributed to 50 partner beneficiaries engaged in livelihood and development initiatives under the DRMD’s Food for Work assistance program.

The activity was attended by key representatives from the City Technical Working Group (CTWG), including officials from DSWD XI, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the City Agriculture Office (CAGRO), the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (City ENRO), the City Information Office (CIO), the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the City Engineer’s Office (CEO), and the Philippine Army.

During the event, updates were also provided on the status of Project LAWA at BINHI payouts, which are funded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).Project LAWA at BINHI is a collaborative initiative aimed at enhancing food security and water access in communities. By working closely with local government units (LGUs) and other stakeholders, the project seeks to improve agricultural productivity, ensure sustainable water sources, and strengthen community resilience for long-term development.
