The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, through its Technical Advisory Assistance and Other Support Services (TAAORSS), successfully conducted a Consultation Dialogue with Local Social Welfare and Development Officers (LSWDOs) from the Davao Region on November 21, 2024, at the World Palace Hotel in Davao City.

The event aimed to strengthen technical and advisory support for Local Government Units (LGUs) in delivering inclusive and effective social welfare programs.

Participants were given an in-depth orientation on the TAAORSS Framework, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) 005, and the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The discussion also included the 3-Year Technical Assistance Plan and updates on Social Welfare Development Laws. These sessions were designed to enhance the participants’ capacity to develop innovative and sustainable programs tailored to the unique needs of their communities. Through interactive workshops and collaborative presentations, participants co-created and refined technical assistance plans, emphasizing the importance of shared goals and collective action to achieve lasting social impact.

Assistant Regional Director for Operations (ARDO) Merlinda A. Paragamac graced the event and delivered an inspiring message on behalf of Regional Director Vanessa B. Goc-ong. In her speech, ARDO Paragamac underscored the department’s commitment to its mantra, “Bawat Buhay Mahalaga sa DSWD.” She reminded the participants that social welfare is not just about delivering services but about creating meaningful, life-changing impacts for individuals and communities.

This initiative highlights DSWD XI’s dedication to empowering local social welfare offices and ensuring that every Davaoeno, especially those from vulnerable sectors, receives the support and care they need. Through collaboration and innovation, DSWD XI continues to work towards a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
