Davao City, September 11, 2024 – Atty. Vanessa B. Goc-Ong, Regional Director of DSWD Field Office XI, was recognized for her support in the successful implementation of the “Batch 2: Mindanao Validation Workshop for the National Action Plan to End Violence Against Women”, during the two-day workshop, held on September 11-12, 2024 at Apo View Hotel, aimed to strengthen efforts in addressing violence against women across the Mindanao region.

In her support message, she underscored the efforts of both local and national governments in pursuing justice for victims and empowering survivors. She said:

We commend the efforts of the local and national governments in pursuing justice for victims and empowering survivors. However, the journey is far from over, and more must be done to ensure every woman is safe from harm. Together, we can build a future where violence against women is no longer a reality, but a history we have overcome.”

The Philippine Commission on Women, represented by Chairperson Ermelita V. Valdeavilla, presented the Certificate of Appreciation to Atty. Goc-Ong in a ceremony in Davao City, highlighting her invaluable contributions to advancing the workshop’s goals.

This recognition emphasizes the ongoing commitment of DSWD and its leaders to ending violence against women and promoting gender equality nationwide.
