The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) Program, turned over a 35.53 sq.m Multi-Purpose Building worth PHP 1,425,144.82 to the community of Barangay Lucod, Baganga, Davao Oriental today (August 9, 2024).

The successful turnover ceremony today marked a significant milestone in the project, bringing together key stakeholders from various sectors. Representatives from the  Area Coordinating Team (ACT), and Municipal Coordinating Team (MCT), along with local officials and community volunteers, all played vital roles in ensuring the smooth transition and successful completion of the project funded under the National Community-Driven Development Program-Additional Financing (NCDDP-AF) modality of KALAHI-CIDSS.

Nagpasalamat kami sa DSWD XI – KALAHI-CIDDS NCDDP AF ug sa tanan namong kauban sa paghimo niining damgo nga matinuod,” said Teresita S. Manguiob, the Chairperson of the Barangay Development Council-Technical Working Group (BDC-TWG) for the said subproject.

The building serves as a central hub for community gatherings, fostering engagement, collaboration, and social connections. It also provides a dedicated space for essential services, such as outreach programs and workshops, benefiting especially marginalized communities. The project’s success highlights DSWD XI’s commitment to community-driven development, ensuring that even remote areas receive the support needed for sustainable growth. (DSWD XI/Jaykee D. Mula)
