Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte – To strengthen the full-scale implementation of Project LAWA at BINHI on the ground, a comprehensive post-assessment, sustainability planning, and community action planning session was conducted, benefiting 300 partner beneficiaries of the Cash-for-Training and Work (CFTW) program in Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte. This initiative is part of the Risk Resiliency Program on Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RRP-CCAM). The session was led by RRP-CCAM focal persons John Vergil R. Salido and Luigi M. Garzon, with active participation from Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) OIC Vivian R. Manile, RSW, Jessica S. Bantolo, and Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Coordinator Germarie Toledo.

Beneficiaries from six associations, including PAWAS 3J’s Association, Ka Tropang SLP LAWA at BINHI Association, Dorothy’s Garden LAWA at BINHI Association, Templado LAWA at BINHI Association, Bobongon FAM Agriculture Fishery Association, and RIC Sitio San Isidro Farmers Association, actively participated in workshops and discussions focusing on sustainability and future community actions.

This initiative underscores the ongoing commitment to building resilient communities, ensuring the long-term impact of climate adaptation projects in Davao del Norte, and fostering sustainable practices that empower local communities. (DSWD XI/RSD)
