The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) successfully concluded a three-day Technical Session and Strategic Planning workshop for the remaining targets of the second semester of the year from August 7-9, 2024, in Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

As one of its longest-running modalities, the National Community-Driven Development Program-Additional Financing (NCDDP-AF) approaches its closing phase, the recent workshop aimed to ensure the successful delivery of remaining targets for the current year while preparing for the next implementation phase.

Throughout the session, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on strategies for effective program delivery, addressing challenges, and formulating directions for 2025. The workshop emphasized the importance of community-driven development (CDD), a key principle of the KALAHI CIDSS program, which promotes transparency, local empowerment, and enhanced accountability.

The workshop also valued staff well-being, incorporating psychosocial activities led by Viel Jan W. Apog, a registered psychometrician with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. These activities were designed to alleviate stress and promote mental health, reflecting the DSWD’s commitment to fostering a supportive work environment.

The DSWD Field Office XI Regional Director Atty. Vanessa B. Goc-ong represented by the Promotive Services Division Chief, Sheryl Ann R. Dumalogdog challenged the staff to sustain the gains of the first semester.

“Let us continue what we’ve started this year. Sustain the efforts and let us become models of effective implementers. I know that KALAHI-CIDSS implementers are so independent and reliable. I am challenging you to maintain that spirit until the end of this modality,” said Dumalogdog.

In addition to strategic planning, the workshop served to strengthen team connections, boost engagement, and encourage open communication, ensuring that the program’s remaining objectives for 2024 are met and laying the groundwork for future initiatives.
