The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XI conducted a Cash-For-Work payout under Project LAWA at BINHI (Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) in the Municipality of Talaingod, Davao del Norte, on July 30, 2024. Each partner beneficiary from the IPs community (Ata-Manubo) received at least PHP8,860.

Led by Disaster Response Management Division Program Section Head Berlita A. Silagan, along with Project LAWA at BINHI Focal Karen C. Gayonan, Risk Resiliency Program-Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RRP-CCAM) Focal of Davao del Norte Luigi T. Garzon, and John Vergil T. Salido, the event was remarkably conducted, marking the first payout in the province for the second round of implementation in the Davao Region.

“Project LAWA at BINHI ensures sustainability by meeting immediate needs and building lasting strength. We help communities adapt and manage resources so they can thrive for years to come,” Silagan said in her opening message at the event.

The Risk Resiliency Program’s Project LAWA at BINHI aims to enhance community resilience and combat poverty by providing essential resources to partner beneficiaries.
