The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary for Operations Group, Monina Josefina H. Romualdez, alongside DSWD Field Office XI Regional Director, Atty. Vanessa B. Goc-ong, led the payout for the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) under the modality of Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay (KKB) through Cash-for-Work to qualified students and fresh graduates from the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) at USeP Obrero today, July 17, 2024.
During her speech, Usec Romualdez congratulated the beneficiaries for completing the required 90 days of work and thanked them for contributing to their respective areas or offices of assignment.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to program beneficiaries for their integral role in the program implementation,” said Usec Romualdez.
She also assured the beneficiaries that the Department will never cease devising programs that directly impact communities.
“I assure you that we, at the DSWD, will continue to develop and implement programs that will have a direct positive impact on the communities through the principles of participatory community-driven development,” she added.
Meanwhile, RD Atty. Goc-ong reminded the beneficiaries not to forget what they have learned and honed from their experiences in the program.
“Looking ahead, I urge you to continue embodying the values of diligence, resilience, and community spirit. Whether you are entering the workforce, pursuing further studies, or exploring new opportunities, remember that the skills and experiences you have gained through this program will serve as a strong foundation for your future endeavors, ” RD Atty. Goc-ong said.
Lovely Joy S. Balon, a beneficiary of the program from USeP-Main Campus who was assigned at the DSWD Field Office XI and was absorbed and designated as Administrative Assistant I at the Social Marketing Unit of the Office of the Regional Director, expressed her gratitude for the opportunities the Department has provided to her.
“Being part of the Cash-for-Work program taught me the value of diligence in every task, no matter how small. By taking my responsibilities seriously and always giving my best effort, I’ve achieved positive results, leading to my promotion and continued employment in this department. I’m grateful to KALAHI-CIDSS for this opportunity and hope the program continues to impact many lives,” Balon stated.
The payout event at USeP Obrero marks another successful implementation of the KALAHI-CIDSS program in the Davao Region. With continued support from the DSWD and active participation from the community, the program aims to build stronger, more resilient communities.
