The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, through its Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) KALAHI-CIDSS program, held the Municipal Development Council – Participatory Resource Allocation (MDC-PRA) forum in San Isidro, Davao del Norte, on May 21, 2024. This event aimed to choose which barangay subprojects would be prioritized for this year’s funding.

At the forum, each barangay presented their proposed subprojects to evaluators, following rules and criteria set at the Municipal Development Council – Criteria Setting Workshop (MDC-CSW) on May 24, 2024. The workshop included the Municipal Development Council – Technical Working Group (MDC-TWG), barangay captains, and Barangay Representation Team (BRT) Representatives. This process emphasized participation, transparency, and accountability.

The Multi-Stakeholders Inspectorate Team (MSIT) was also created to ensure the subprojects remain functional after completion. This team of experts will check that the subprojects continue to serve their purpose and that the Operations and Maintenance groups are effective. An action plan was also made for subprojects that needed to be prioritized, outlining possible next steps.

The successful prioritization of these vital subprojects underscores the Department’s commitment to community-driven development and empowerment. As the Local Government Unit of San Isidro, Davao del Norte embarks on these new projects, the collaborative efforts of the barangays, the DSWD, and the local government promise to bring meaningful improvements to the lives of the residents, fostering a stronger and more resilient community.
