In a proactive move towards transparency and accountability, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI has invited observers from Crimes and Corruption Watch International (CCWI), a non-governmental organization specializing in procurement processes, to its recent procurement activities on May 9, 2024.

The visit came after the organization observed the Post Qualification Process conducted by various DSWD Field Office XI entities, including the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) Secretariat, Technical Working Group (TWG), and End Users.

The purpose of having external observers is to ensure checks and balances within the procurement processes of DSWD, aligning with the standards set forth by Republic Act 9184, its implementing rules, and the Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB) circulars.

Margaretta B. Fernandez, the Executive Director of Crimes and Corruption Watch International and a Certified Public Procurement Specialist, expressed appreciation for the invitation and emphasized the importance of transparency in public procurement.

By inviting independent observers, DSWD Field Office XI reaffirms its dedication to conducting procurement activities with utmost transparency and adherence to legal and ethical standards, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and equitably to serve the community. (DSWD FO XI/EMCJr)
