To strengthen community development initiatives, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS), organized a Pre-Implementation Workshop for Phase 2 implementation in 2024 of one of its modalities, the National Community-Driven Development Program-Additional Financing (NCDDP-AF), with a total budget of PHP 10,000,000.00 for the Municipality of Baganga. The workshop aimed to streamline procurement processes and ensure efficient project implementation.
Held on March 12-13, 2024, the workshop convened key stakeholders including the Procurement Team, Bids and Awards Committee, Project Implementation Team, and Monitoring and Inspection Team. Facilitated by the Area Coordinating Team (ACT) and Municipal Coordinating Team (MCT), the event took place at the Multi-Purpose Building within the Old KALAHI-CIDSS Project Site in Barangay Saoquigue, Baganga, Davao Oriental.
During the workshop, participants engaged in comprehensive discussions and simulations to prepare for upcoming procurement activities. Notably, volunteers from nine covered barangays—Batiano, Baculin, Lambajon, Kinablangan, San Victor, Lucod, Salingcomot, Saoquigue, and Dapnan—participated actively. In a practical exercise on the second day, volunteers were divided into groups to simulate the opening and evaluation of quotations, ensuring readiness for procurement processes.
Phase 2 of the KC NCDDP-AF program allocates a budget of PHP 10,000,000.00 for development projects across the nine barangays. The program aims to serve and benefit numerous beneficiaries in these communities, facilitating sustainable growth and addressing socio-economic challenges.
The Department’s proactive efforts in organizing the pre-implementation workshop underscore its commitment to efficient and transparent project implementation, ultimately contributing to the holistic development of communities in Davao Oriental. (DSWD FO XI/EMCJr)
