In collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) and the City Government of Mati, a significant milestone was reached with the ground-breaking ceremony for a 360-linear meter community access road in Barangay Danao on March 7, 2024.

The project, funded by a substantial grant of P3.8 million pesos from the DSWD through the KALAHI-CIDSS – Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay (KKB) Balik Probinsya Bagong Pag-asa Program (BP2P) in partnership with the barangay local government unit, is poised to transform connectivity for the community.

Comprising essential components such as concrete, formworks, steel reinforcement bars, and masonry, the road holds the promise of crucial access for residents, particularly the 231 households in Barangay Danao, most of whom are beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

The community access road construction reflects the government’s commitment to marginalized communities, promising sustainable development and improved well-being for Barangay Danao. As anticipation grows for its completion, the initiative showcases the Department’s impactful contributions to inclusive development in the region through the KALAHI-CIDSS program.
