The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, through the efforts of the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) and Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) assisted the Panag Federation of SLP Associations Incorporated on their first successful delivery of 238 sacks of rice to 45 Child Development Centers in New Bataan, Davao de Oro on December 20, 2023.

The SLP Federation which consists of 11 SLP Associations was able to supply a total of P655,820.00-worth of rice under the 13th cycle of the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP). Another SLp Federation in New Bataan is also expected to engage in community procurement next year.

DSWD XI through the EPAHP looks forward to champion the Community Participation in Procurement Strategy in the Region because it addresses issues on hunger and poverty. This strategy is expected to enhance the capacity of the community, improve the lives of its members, and increase the trust and confidence of the people in the government.

EPAHP is a convergence program which aims to alleviate hunger and poverty in the country through the community-driven development approaches in agro-enterprise, and other livelihood

and food security programs.

The SFP is the provision of food to children in addition to their regular meals as part of the DSWD’s contribution to the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) program of the government.
