Monkayo, Davao de Oro, December 12, 2023 – After the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that hit the coast of Hinatuan in Surigao Del Sur last December 2, 2023, which also affected some areas of Davao Region, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI distributed family food packs to the 114 affected families in Brgy. Diwalwal, Monkayo, Davao de Oro on December 8, 2023. 

This timely assistance aimed to respond to the immediate needs of those impacted by the tremors. Each family received 1 family food pack containing coffee or milk; canned goods such as sardines, corned beef or beef loaf; and rice.

The Department’s prompt response underscores its commitment to providing crucial support to communities affected by natural disasters, ensuring that no one is left without aid during such trying times. 

The relief distribution not only addresses the immediate necessities of affected families but also serves as a beacon of hope, signaling solidarity and care for those grappling with the aftermath of the earthquake. ### (DSWD FO XI/EMCJr)
