The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XI (DSWD FO XI), through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), joined hands with the Clean Water International Philippines (CWIP) to provide safe and clean water, especially to 4Ps beneficiaries in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs) by leveraging water technologies from CWIP. Both parties inked a Memorandum of Agreement on October 26, 2023, in Catalunan Pequeño, Davao City.

Clean Water International Philippines, a globally operating Non-Government Organization (NGO), is dedicated to realizing a world where children can flourish by ensuring access to basic water, sanitation, and hygiene.

As part of this collaboration, CWIP will provide Ceramic Water Filters (technology) to identified 4Ps beneficiaries in GIDA, where access to safe drinking water is scarce, thereby addressing both consumption and other essential needs, especially within indigenous communities. This initiative is complemented by comprehensive water, sanitation, and hygiene training provided by CWIP, aiming to empower communities with knowledge and skills for sustained impact.

Moreover, CWIP is committed to fostering livelihood opportunities through the selection of WaSH (Water-a-Sanitation-Hygiene) Ambassadors. This initiative targets the selection of qualified, competent and credible 4Ps beneficiaries.

During the ceremonial signing, Mr. Darrell Nelson, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of CWIP, demonstrated the Ceramic Water Filter to Atty. Vanessa B. Goc-ong, Regional Director of DSWD FO XI, along with Pantawid Pamilya Division Project Development Officer III Jerose Pendio, and regional partnership focals, Jamicca Medrano and Ana Felissa Lim.

CEO Nelson explained the technology behind the Ceramic Water Filter, showcasing its effectiveness in providing safe and clean water. The signing event marks the beginning of a timeline during which both parties commit to fulfilling all agreements, ensuring the swift implementation of this vital initiative.

Additionally, the two parties agreed that CWIP shall extend its assistance and services to DSWD FO XI during disasters and calamities in Davao Region.

This partnership is just one of the many initiatives undertaken by the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program XI to strengthen collaborative efforts with partner stakeholders. The DSWD FO XI remains steadfast in its pursuit of collaborative outputs that uplift communities and make lasting positive changes.
