The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI – Sustainable Livelihood Program recently conducted a four-day Orientation on the Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 7, series of 2023 or the Revised Guidelines for the Comprehensive Implementation of the Sustainable Livelihood Program to its regional and field staff at World Palace Hotel Davao City on August 1-4, 2023.

SLP developed the revised guidelines in line with the five-year Sustainability Plan to support said streamlining and simplification efforts through the conduct of review and analysis of its main implementation guidelines. The new guidelines also present amendments/enhancement to the SLP Program design, specifically the SLP timeline and duration for its regular and referral implementation process as well as its current cost parameters for livelihood interventions and sustainability.

The activity was led by SLP Regional Program Coordinator Raynel C. Ayungao, together with the members  of the Regional Program Management Team. Promotive Services Chief Elizabeth T. Degorio extended her words of encouragement to the participants in the eventual adoption of the new guidelines. Also,  SLP Central Office officials  Lezlie N. Tordecilla and Maria Mikhaela Gonzales were present, providing  a clearer direction and clarification to some queries on MC No. 7. 

SLP continues to be the Department’s lead livelihood capability-building program for poor, vulnerable, and marginalized households and communities, to help improve their socio-economic conditions through accessing and acquiring necessary assets to engage in and maintain thriving livelihoods.
