Razil Dupal-ag, is a resident of Agdao, Davao City. She was born in Agusan Province where she grew up poor and unable to finish her studies. At an early age, she started to have a family of her own, but life seems to get worse as she was physically and emotionally abused by her husband. Even her own family doubted her capacity to provide a good future to her four children. She was deemed a failure.

Despite all of these, she never doubted God and remained faithful that all of her struggles will soon pass.
Without anything but her faith and strong determination to provide a better life for her children, she decided to move to Davao City together with her kids.

Then life eased up for her. She managed to start a job as a freelance photographer in school events, using
an old camera that she borrowed from her sibling. But her income including the cash grant she received
as a Pantawid Beneficiary could hardly support her children’s need. She even recalled how she swallowed her pride and begged schools to hire her as official photographer in some events.

During her free time, she prepared and sold peanut butter. She engaged in countless jobs just to sustain their everyday needs.

In 2020, the pandemic became a ‘livelihood bomber’ as school activities were limited and selling her home-made peanut butter was a challenge. She recalled how she prayed hard to God, seeking help not for herself but for her children.

As the days went on, and as the pandemic persisted, Razil grew fond of watching live online selling videos on Facebook. This motivated her to pursue her interest in this line of business. Using the social amelioration program (SAP) grant she got as a Pantawid member, as well as the Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG) worth P10,000, she confidently rolled out her online selling.

Through her determination and faith, she started her business with only 11 pieces of thrift bags which she sold to friends and co-workers. Now she sells thousands of bags. Her life together with her children changed for the best.

Now, she earns hundreds of thousands which is more than she could ever wish for. To this day, she remains very grateful to DSWD which paved the way in reaching her dreams. ###
