The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XI (DSWD) actively participated in the leveling-off activity organized by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation Regional Office XI (PhilHealth RO XI) on April 11, 2023, at the Star Hotel Paramount Complex, Ma-a, Davao City. Participants were focal persons from two DSWD offices, namely the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and the National House Targeting System (NHTS) or Listahanan, as well as Local Health Insurance Officers (LHIOs) from various provinces. These LHIOs are responsible for providing assistance to the 4Ps beneficiaries with regard to PhilHealth services.

DSWD XI Pantawid Pamilya focal persons discuss the issues, concerns, and processes for the inclusion of the potential beneficiaries in the database for the NHIP.

The activity, which was spearheaded by Mr. Filbert Bryan Sollesta, Field Operations Division (FOD) Chief, and Mr. Mark Christian Decena, Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) Representative, aimed to address the streamlined processes, issues, and concerns regarding the implementation of the database as source of potential beneficiaries to be included in the 4Ps.

Furthermore, the activity elicited substantial inputs and suggestions for a unified approach in addressing concerns on the registration of beneficiaries to the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP) of PhilHealth.  Also discussed were data matching of 4Ps-NHTU and PhilHealth, PhilHealth Indirect Contributors, services offered to PhilHealth members, and gaps that needed to be addressed between the two agencies.

As one of PhilHealth’s many partners, DSWD plays a crucial role in the implementation of the National Health Insurance Program as mandated by Republic Act No. 7875, which institutionalizes social health insurance in the country. Through this collaborative effort, the two agencies aim to provide quality health care services to the Filipino people and ensure that no one is left behind.###
