The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XI, through its Sustainable Livelihood Program conducted a ceremonial turn over of seed capital checks to 5 SLP Associations to different barangays in Calinan District, Davao City, last November 9 to 15, 2022. 

DSWD City Cluster coordinator Rosa Ana C. Gado and Deputy City Coordinator Luis L. Seras, together with the different partners and staff led the turn over of checks to Sinab-badan Bagobo Tagabawa Atan-awe EO70 SLP Association from Barangay Atan-awe, Catigan Farmers EO70 SLP Association from Barangay Catigan,  Mountain Side Farmers SLP EO70 Association from Brgy. Suawan, and Inayangan EO70 SLP Association, from Brgy. Inayangan.

Each of these associations received P300,000 worth of capital for their identified and approved livelihood projects. This is in line with the implementation of Executive Order No. 70 or ‘Institutionalizing the Whole-of-Nation Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace, Creating a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict and Directing Adoption of a National Framework.’ One of its aims is to provide economic opportunities to identified conflict-vulnerable areas in Davao Region. 119  beneficiaries are expected to benefit from this effort. Moreover, a total of 1.5 million worth of funds was disbursed.

DSWD is one of the lead agencies in the implementation of E.O. 70, together with the Local Government Unit of Davao, various barangay local government units, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Philippine National Police.

SLP aims is a capability-building program which aims to improve the economic well-being of the vulnerable, marginalized, and disadvantaged individuals and families in communities by mobilizing and empowering the same through the support of the local government units and other government agencies.
