The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI, through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) PAyapa at MAsaganang PamayaNAn (PaMaNa) Community-Driven Development Program for Indigenous People (IP-CDD), officially turned over one barangay isolation unit to the officials and Dibabawon tribal representatives of Brgy. Sonlon, Asuncion, Davao del Norte last April 28, 2022.

Said project, which costs around P600 thousand, was built to address the ongoing risks of the COVID-19 pandemic in the barangay.

The turnover ceremony was led by representatives from the municipal and barangay local government units (LGUs), tribal representatives, and KALAHI-CIDSS XI area and municipal coordinating teams, headed by Municipal Area Coordinator Louche Basco-Cartilla.

KALAHI-CIDSS PaMaNa IP-CDD and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) are the implementers and funders of the sub-project, assisted by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) and the BLGU.

Through the CDD approach, citizens of communities are empowered to actively participate in project proposal-making, planning, implementing, and monitoring of poverty-alleviation projects, most especially in the delivery of basic services to IP. ###
