As part of the Task Group Face Mask of the National Task Force against COVID-19, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues to deliver free washable face masks to local government units (LGUs) through the “Libreng Mask Para sa Masa” project of President Duterte.

On January 15, the DSWD, led by Undersecretary Rene Glen O. Paje, with the Department of Health, Department of Trade and Industry, Procurement Service of Department of Budget and Management, Office of Civil Defense, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Department of Science and Technology- Philippine Textile Research Institute, turned over a total of 1,080,000 cloth face masks to the Province of Cavite, represented by Provincial Administrator for External Affairs Dr. Alvin S. Mojica.

To date, the Task Force has distributed 2,422,890 face masks to 16 cities and municipalities in the National Capital Region, and three provinces.  In the coming days, the Task Force will also deliver face masks to the cities of Marikina and Malabon.

Also present during the ceremony were DSWD Field Office (FO) CALABARZON-Disaster Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Division Chief Ricky Bunao; Atty. Khervy B. Reyes, Provincial Supervising Cooperative and Development Specialist; Ms. Precyl Ramos, OIC of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office; TSG. Richard Dimaranan of the Philippine Air Force; and Ms. Tipin Joy T. Quinto of the Presidential Management Staff. ###
