DAVAO DEL SUR (DSWD XI) – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI continues to lead in peaceful and orderly distribution of relief supplies in the twenty-three (23) evacuation centers located in Davao del Sur where a total of 3,055 families or 14,052 individuals currently stay.

The field office has so far deployed thirty-one (31) camp managers who will provide support to field personnel in charge of the evacuation centers. These camp managers will also lead in the assessment and intake of displaced families and the provision of psychosocial support especially among women and children evacuees.

OIC-Regional Director Grace Q. Subong encourages the public to course their donations through the department, local government units, other national government agencies, or non-government organizations who have been coordinating with the local social welfare and development office for the distribution to the affected families.

This is in response to reports of relief supplies being mobbed by quake victims from private individuals who do not coordinate with authorities and conduct spontaneous relief distribution.

To date, the total cost of assistance provided by DSWD XI through the distribution of food and non-food items and other financial assistance is P11,459,231.00.
