Davao City (DSWD XI) – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program will award the regional and provincial winners of the 2019 Regional Search for Huwarang Pamilyang Pilipino and Search for Exemplary Child at Grand Regal Hotel on Friday, September 20, 2019.

The event will carry the theme “Pamilyang Pilipino, Taas Noo sa Buong Mundo” which acclaims the dignity, value and empowerment of the family-beneficiaries to stand against poverty. This also signifies the program’s respect and recognition to family-beneficiaries’ perseverance and progress towards the goals of improving their quality of life.

Moreover, the said activity will feature the inspiring stories of Huwaran families and children beneficiaries, highlighting the milestones of Pantawid Pamilya in its ten years of implementation.

“The search aims to recognize family beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program who maintain strong family ties, demonstrate positive Filipino values, and have a positive impact in the community where they reside,” said DSWD Regional Director Mercedita P. Jabagat.

The Carlos family of Barangay Malabog Paquibato District, Davao City regional winner of the Search for Huwarang Pamilyang Pilipino will participate in the national awarding ceremonies in Manila on September 29, 2019.

While Juhan Dave Tombo of Mati City, regional winner of the Search for Pantawid Exemplary Child will compete at the national level in November during the national celebration of Children’s Month in Manila.

The regional winner of Huwarang Pamilya will receive Php20,000.00 and a plaque while all provincial winner will receive Php10, 000.00 each plus a plaque.

The regional Exemplary Child will get Php15,000.00 and a plaque while provincial winners will each receive Php10, 000.00 and a plaque.

Launched in 2012, the search is open to all Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries who have good standing in the community with no derogatory records and have not been convicted of any administrative, criminals, civil case or cases involving moral turpitude in the last five years, and a family with 100% compliance in all Pantawid Pamilya conditionalities.

Model Pantawid families and children beneficiaries are proof that anyone can have a better chance at fighting the effects of poverty if he or she is accessed to opportunities and tools for human development.

To date, the government continues to provide better opportunities to 247,450 families in the entire region through Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program. (DSWD)
