DAVAO CITY (DSWD XI) –  The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI kicked off its 68th anniversary celebration with a Foot Parade today, Wednesday, along the streets of Suazo, Juan Luna, Chavez, and Ramon Magsaysay.

The parade was attended by staffs from the seven (7) divisions and led by the Sta. Ana National High School Marching Band and Drum and Bugle Corps.

Shortly after the parade was the Thanksgiving Mass presided by Msgr. Jose Junar N. Dela Victoria of the Sta. Ana Shrine Parish church.

DSWD Undersecretary Camilo G. Gudmalin then joined the regional team in the blessing of the newly constructed covered court and the opening of the DSWD Bazaar 2019 .

This year’s anniversary theme is “DSWD: Katuwang sa Pagbabago (Partners for Change)” emphasizing the significance of the Department’s role in creating linkages not only between local and national agencies but with private organizations as well in the delivery of social welfare and development services to the poor, vulnerable, and disadvantaged sectors.

On March 11, the Field Office will also recognize outstanding partners, volunteer groups, people’s organizations, and employees that have significantly contributed in the implementation of the Department’s programs and services in 2018.

Starting at 1:00 p.m., the awarding ceremony will be held at Davao Convention and Trade Center, F. Torres St., Davao City and will be joined by no less than the new Department Secretary, Rolando Joselito D. Bautista. (DSWD)
