LUPON, Davao Oriental (DSWD XI) -A total of Php 768,000.00 worth of checks was released to three (3) Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) here last week of January through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Program.

Said livelihood beneficiaries have earlier agreed to venture into community projects like Hog Raising, Fishing Boat, Fish Pond and Bangus Production.

Meanwhile, former rebels also received Php 15,000.00 each as Seed Capital Fund to finance food cart, hog raising, goat raising and sari-sari store businesses.

Leading the turnover of checks were DSWD Chief for Promotive Services Merlinda A. Paragamac , SLP Provincial Coordinator Julius R. Duterte, Municipal Administrator Robert Simbajon, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Cirila Cobero, Poblacion Barangay Captain Florentino Maquilan III, and Bagumbayan Barangay Captain Generoso Raneses.

The Sustainable Livelihood Program aims to provide access to resources that will improve the productivity of the participants’ already existing livelihood. It is open to every Filipino family especially the poor, marginalized, vulnerable, and disadvantaged. (DSWD)
