Tagum City (DSWD XI) – On the first week of August, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Home for the Aged opened its 40^th anniversary celebration with a motorcade in downtown thoroughfares and a Zumba session at the Center.

The weeklong party also ushered treats for the elderly residents such as Dental Examination and Tooth Extraction; Eye Examination and Cataract Screening; Sports Competition in Badminton and Volleyball; Bloodletting; Session in Manicure, Pedicure and Hair Cutting; and Massage Services.

Capping the milestone observance was the Anniversary Program which was preceded with a Thanksgiving Mass and the Blessing of the new Male Ward Building led by DSWD Assistant Secretary Dr. Lorraine Marie T. Badoy.

The 40^TH commemoration was supported by Philippine Dental Association – Davao del Norte Chapter, Tagum Eye Surgicenter, Philippine Red Cross – Davao del Norte Chapter, Tagum City PESO Office, Tagum City “Balik-Sigla” Program, Association of the Friends of the Home for the Aged, and DSWD Davao Del Norte Provincial Operations Office.
