Davao City (DSWD XI) -The Kapalong IP Women and USWAG C-SATS SLP associations of Kapalong, Davao del Norte recently received Php 500,000.00 and Php 400,000.00 micro-enterprise livelihood assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The capital assistance fund will benefit 90 beneficiaries who will embark in Rice Retailing and General Merchandise.

Another five Sustainable Livelihood Program associations in San Isidro, Davao Oriental were granted capital assistance fund and will embark in Rice Retailing, Chicken Production, Goat Raising and Production, and Amakan Making.

Meanwhile, 42 beneficiaries of Barangay Tulogan, Padada, Davao del Sur participated in the Technical Vocational Training in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) under the DSWD-SLP in partnership with Cor Jesu College of Digos City.

For the first quarter of 2017, the livelihood unit of DSWD Davao Region has provided seed capital funds to 1,379 program beneficiaries and skills training to 11,657, making them productive and economically active members of the community. (DSWD)
